Darumas are traditionally seen as symbols of good luck and the Japanese often use them to make wishes come true. You make a wish or set a goal, write it on the daruma and fill in just ONE of its eyes. Hang up your daruma somewhere you'll see often as a regular reminder. Once your wish comes true or you've achieved your goal, fill in the other eye and congratulate yourself :)
They're great for making new year resolutions with (hang up on your Christmas tree as an ornament this year and hopefully, you can hang it up the following year with both eyes filled in), graduation gifts, new baby gifts, wedding gifts, going-away presents and so on. Pretty versatile, eh?
Each daruma measures 85mm wide x 80mm high when standing, and is 10mm thick. It comes with 6 extra paper inserts that have blank eyes on one side and lines on the other for you to fill in.
Refills are available in packs of 6.
